Happy spring! I know I said that spring had sprung last week, but if I’m being honest with myself, 55 degrees and sunny isn’t really springtime. But this week, the sun is shining and it’s warm enough to wear shorts! And, I only have two and a half more weeks of class before summer! Okay, on to today’s post.
A few weeks ago, Mikasa Beauty reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in trying their products. Mikasa is based in Vancouver and offers makeup brushes, lashes, hair products and makeup. I was given the opportunity to try their products at a discount (as always, head to my Disclaimer for more info on this!). Click through to see whether I think it was worth it!
What I Bought
Since I had never bought anything from Mikasa before, I decided to start slow. I settled on their E240 Short Eye Shader Brush, which is meant to smudge out shadow and eyeliner. I also received a free gift with my purchase, the S100 Lemon Drop sponge, which is their version of a beautyblender.
What I Thought
I was really happy with the brush I decided to purchase. The bristles are super soft and blend eyeshadow beautifully. As far as quality, the brush felt hefty and not like it’s going to just fall apart. These makeup brushes might be in the mid- to high-range as far as price, you’re paying for a good quality.
I was also ecstatic about the sponge I received. It feels and functions exactly the same as a classic beautyblender. (It also happens to be my favorite color). And it’s only $11 – almost half the price of a beautyblender.
Is It Worth It?
I think Mikasa’s brushes are worth it. They’re less expensive than single brushes you can find at Sephora or Sigma and the quality is still great. I have yet to give any of their makeup or hair products a try, but I’m definitely planning on it in the near future.
