Believe it or not, I’m about to graduate from college (t-minus two months!). With that comes finding a job, starting my career and becoming a bonafide adult. And while my college years have been an amazing, fun experience, I have also learned a thing or two along the way. Yes, I’ve learned a lot about marketing and communications, and I’ve had the opportunity to get real work experience through internships; however, I’ve also learned a little bit about managing life.
I’ve written before about getting my financial life together, but now I’m getting close to having an actual full-time job with actual living expenses. That means focusing on my future versus just sticking to a budget. So, I thought I’d take what I’ve learned about saving and budgeting and share it here. Moving forward, I hope Me, My Lips & Eyes can be a place where I can share how I stay responsible with my money while still pursuing my passions and having fun.
What does pursuing my passions on a budget mean?
Well, I’m bringing back the Broke Girl Beauty series and making it the permanent focus of any beauty posts I write. I’ll still write about the beauty products I think are worth the splurge, but for the most part, I want to share how it’s totally possible to get high quality beauty products without breaking the bank.
Same goes for fashion and lifestyle posts – I love Gucci as much as the next girl, but that just isn’t a realistic brand at the moment. That doesn’t mean I’m only going to recommend pieces from fast fashion stores at the mall – quality is definitely important (and the ethics around fast fashion is a story for another time).
I hope you all are ready for this slight revamp of the content on here and are as excited about it as I am!
