Holiday Fashion // 2016

The holidays are my favorite time of year. I love watching Christmas movies, decorating the house (check out my Pinterest for all of my favorites), and spending time with family. But this is also the time of year when I find myself getting dressed up for endless family dinners and holiday parties. (I went to four separate Thanksgivings last year – overwhelming is putting it lightly). I love dressing up, but with all of these events, I sometimes find myself at a loss for what to wear. This year, however, I’m prepared for holiday fashion season.

I’ve scoured my favorite stores for holiday-appropriate outfits for every event, from casual family dinners to New Year’s Eve. Check out my favorite holiday fashion picks below!

The suede over-the-knee boots are the focal point of this outfit. I love them but have found myself struggling to find occasions to wear them on, so I thought a casual Friendsgiving would be perfect. The skirt shows a little bit of skin that might not be appropriate for a family function (but to each their own!), but is a great pop of color in an otherwise neutral outfit. I’ll definitely be putting this in my rotation this season.

Velvet is a classic holiday fabric, but the color of this dress tones it down just the right amount. I’d love to wear this look to a more formal holiday party or family event.

I’ve been very into vests recently and this sleeveless coat from H&M is toasty and more environmentally friendly (it’s a part of their “Conscious” line). Rose gold is also such a festive color and it offsets the deep burgundy of this sweater beautifully. I’d love this for a casual Christmas party or Hannukah dinner.

Even though black and silver have most definitely been done before, I couldn’t bring myself to stray from the classic NYE color palette. You can change up the look with the addition of holographic accessories, like this envelope purse from Forever 21. The bell sleeves on this Elizabeth and James dress also add a touch of drama to a classic LBD. I can’t wait to wear this palette on New Year’s.
