Everything You Need to Know About Microblading

I have mentioned it before: my natural eyebrows are pretty sad. They don’t quite fit the arch aesthetic of 2017. So each morning, I spend 20 minutes outlining and filling in my eyebrows with three separate products—a pencil, a pomade and a gel. And that makeup doesn’t come cheap. Each product costs around $20 and needs to be replaced four times per year. I’ll do the math for you: I spend $240 every single year for the two hairy things that sit above my eyes.

Despite the toll my arch addiction takes on my wallet, I don’t think I’ll be sporting the pencil-thin brows of the 2000s anytime soon. So I set out to do some research on other options. I settled on castor oil (post coming soon), but my dream is the procedure I’m talking about today: microblading.

Review: Azeredo Cosmetics Mink Eyelashes + Exciting News

I am always looking for ways to enhance my lashes. Like my eyebrows, my lashes are super light and short. I’ve definitely considered getting eyelash extensions but man, is that expensive. So, I tend to rely on mascaras with darkening and lengthening properties. But sometimes, makeup just doesn’t cut it. When a look needs more than just a swipe or two of mascara, I reach for false eyelashes.

I’ve gone through tons of different brands and styles through the years. I’ve tried full strips and individual lashes from Ardell, Duo and Sephora. But no matter the price point, these lashes have all been synthetic. The look I get from them is certainly dramatic, but not quite as seamless as I’d like. I’ve wanted to try natural lashes, but between the expense and the possibility that they aren’t cruelty-free, I’ve hesitated to buy any. Recently, however, the team at Azeredo Cosmetics (formerly Mandy Cosmetics) reached out and offered me the opportunity to try their natural mink eyelashes. Check out my thoughts below!

Review: Etude House Tint My Brows Gel

If you’ve ever seen me without my eyebrows, I’m sorry.

Okay, so I’m (mostly) kidding, but I really do look like a totally different person with my natural brows. They’re blonde, sparse and don’t help to frame my eyes at all. That’s why I usually rely on various products to shape my arches: brow gel, pencils and pomades. But if you’ve kept up with the beauty scene in recent years, you know that K-beauty (shorthand for products imported from South Korea) has made a splash in the West – and one of the most novel products it’s brought with it is peel-off eyebrow tint. But does it work? Check out my review below to find out!
